End of a season?

Well, summer is drawing to a close. And with it, I fear the end of the season of new 100W episodes. Don’t despair, for it isn’t the end of the series, I expect it to return again by next summer with perhaps new graphics, a more well trained host, and other such events having ocurred. How many episodes this summer has it been? Four? Well, that’s good for having started the cogs half-way through the summer.

And just as all animals hide away for the summer, the video portions decide to hibernate in a cocoon all winter long, to emerge again as a beautiful butterfly (or perhaps better clarity, or HD).

Do I announce it now? I hope that over the Winter to have 100Amps! Or Amperes, I’ll have to fact check to see if they exist. But yes, if I have time (by time I refer you to this posting on our sister blog) I hope there to be audio podcasts coming out of the torrential freezes of these Rocky Mountains, where 100W comes from, and the birthplace of our very own (that’s me!) lcarsos (with an ‘L’ contrary to the fact that the font used, has exactly the same character for a capital ‘I’ and a lower case ‘l’).

There might be Season Finalé proper to come out after this post, wrapping us up at an even five episodes for this summer. But now you know how things might shape up. So I’m not dead, just hanging out offline, and near a heater for Winter (though it’s hard to think of needing a heater when we’re having one of the hotter days out here, not that bad though).

Episode 4 – Keyboard Kalamity

Tada! So, I promised this one to come out earlier this week. Unfortunately for you, I forgot out a little tooth removal surgery that I had scheduled. So, amidst my pain killers and sleep medication, I did not upload the episode “earlier” this week, however, this is not “later this week” simply because I say so.

And the embed thing might actually work the first time round! Select pictures to be found at flickr.com/photos/lcarsos/. And once again, I’ve managed to get through an entire show without mentioning the email address.

Episode 3 – July 4th (several weeks late)

Well, two weeks from July 4th comes an episode designed for that day. Enjoy, and it is slightly long, but I have less than 30 seconds screen time. So, if you hate looking at my ugly mug then this is the episode for you!

If I have figured out the embed code, you have just watched the latest episode of 100W. And, though I can’t promise anything, you may want to expect (or hunker down for) another episode early next week, I just have to edit and stitch (with thread and needle) it together.

Flickr.com/photos/lcarsos for those photos that I have uploaded of this event. They come geotagged for your mapping enjoyment. Just a little cheat for future enjoyment of pictures, all pictures are tagged with the show name and the three digit episode code, if you stumble onto a flickr search box just type in something resembling, “100W003″ where the last three digits change per episode number; so next episode’s pictures (if there are any) would go under “100W004″.

I would also like to complain that the embed feature changes the aspect ratio to 4:3, and I wanted it to stay in the 16:9 format, so there’s no black space, just suddenly a moving picture in the webpage. I just think it looks sleaker that way, with no controls for the video until you roll over. If somebody would happen to know how to change the embed for a WordPress hosted blog, I would most appreciate it.

Episode 2 – Fathers Day (several days late)

A ha! And you thought I couldn’t do it. Well, I still can’t because the embed code is so rediculously annoying.

That should work. Very Important: the pictures that are displayed in the program will not be on deviantART as advertised, they will be found at flickr.com/photos/lcarsos.

Episode 1 – The Triumphant Entry

Welcome, all those that have been brought here from dA, or from Twitter, please don’t mind the host of this program, it really is a test to see what kind of effects I can successfully pull off.

Apparently, videos need to be converted into flash, so my attempts at multi-tasking, have been thwarted. I’m just waiting for Vimeo to give me the embed link. They tell me I have to wait approximately 155 minutes (that’s 2 hours 35 minutes for those of us who don’t anal retentively keep time in minutes)

So what do you think? We’re really trying to find a new host, or at least tone down the one we have. Better episodes to come, and the production value will go up.

The 3d portions were all done in anim8or at anim8or.com. Total time rendering these is about 20 hours (mostly taken up by the “Technical Difficulties” cg).

Umm, soon, we’re hoping that 100W will get rolling again, perhaps we’ll ease into the new blog with an audio edition, not really sure. But soon, we’ll be cookin’ again.
